The original line when she receives her silver dress "Oh It's a lovely dress"-Cinderella
fast forward 63 years to the present when Disney douses it royal blue and colors her hair buttery blonde "What on earth did you do to my dress, it's silver, and my hair is soft strawberry blonde not solid blonde"-Cinderella (runs off to let Aurora complain about never letting her wear the blue dress and always dousing her in pink)
I'm always glad to see the silver dress here, blue just looks ugly on her.
Yes. sadly there is whole new generation that thinks this dress is blue.
As far as I know the marketing people at Disney changed it to blue because it looked too bridal for marketing/merchandising purposes, ergo given the pink one to Aurora to make her more appealing to little girls. Also since most of the time when she's dancing in half light or the dark the dress is shaded in blues in the movie, and everyone today thinks it is blue! Rubbish!
If it was too bridal then they could have made it a darker shade of gray. Also if they were so insistent on Aurora wearing pink why didn't they give Ariel a blue dress since it fits her better in the first place (and no peasant dresses don't count.
Hi Betty, Thank you for noticing. Why it ever became blue is beyond me. In the movie it is clearly silver. In Snow White, the applied real blush or rouge to each cell. I guess it cost prohibitive by the time of Cinderella. Thank you for your kind comment. Gerry
